Customs declarations: 2 forms C2'CP3 and 1despatch note CP2 (a separate set
for each parcel).
1lie customs declaration form C2 CP3 must give a precise description of the
nature and value of the contents and all other details. The contents must be
indicated in full detail, with a separate description of each article and its value.
I he customs declaration forms mu a also give the gross and net weight of the
parcel. They need not bear, in all cases, the authentic signature of the consignor.
The name of the consignor may be given by hand, typewriter, rubber-stamp or
other mechanical process.
Invoice: A copy of the invoice must always be inserted in the parcel and a
note must be made in the customs declaration that this has been done.
Prohibitions: Letters, except one for the addressee; arms and parts thereof
including toy, dummy or imitation revolvers or pistols, and clasp knives of which
the blades are more than 3 inches long, appliances for discharging gas, charged
butane gas lighters and refills; cotton and woollen piece-goods, cut flowers; gold,
silver or articles made of gold or silver, jewellery; labels or woven goods bearing
dc ans in imitation of paper money; lottery tickets and football pool coupons
and literature relating thereto; peari necklaces; quinine coloured pink; silk and
artistic articles in silk; sulphur, subversive literature.
Hi trillions: Bulbs and plants; chemicals; cigars, cigarettes and tobacco in any
form; confectionery; currency notes including Indian currency notes; diamonds
(including industrial diamonds) and other precious stones; fountain pens (with
or without gold nibs and caps) and parts thereof; lead and propelling pencil;
lighters; machine tools; perfumes; playing cards; potatoes and certain seeds;
saccharin; spare parts for motor vehicles and textile machinery; spectacles and
Sun-glasses; spirits; synthetic gems, watches and parts (hereof; wireless trans
mitting apparatus.
Certain drugs and medicines are admitted if sent for scientific or medical pur
poses. An import liccnec is required.
