        Gift  parcels:  Residents  in  Iran  may  receive  items  valued  up  to  10,000  rials
       (approximately  $92)  per annum, although  full  import  duty  is  payable on  such
       parcels.  Parcels should  be  clearly  marked  U nsolicited G ift.
        Packing:  Parcels  must  be  packed  in  wood,  metal,  canvas,  linen  or  similar
       material.
        Scaling:  Parcels  must  be  sealed  with  a  distinctive  device.
        Delivery:  Additional  charges  for  conveyance  from  the  Iranian  frontier  are
       collected.
        Compensation  is  not  payable  for  damage  to  uninsured  parcels  containing
       porcelain,  glassware  and  other  exceptionally  fragile  articles.
        Address:  Block  Capitals  must  be used.

        Dutiable articles may be sent  by letter (except insured letter) and small packet
       post-up  to  $100  green  label  required;  thereafter  top  green  label  and form
       C2/CP3.
        Insurance:  Limit  $160—Surface  and  principal  towns  only.  See  list  under
       Parcel  Post.
        Prohibitions:  Charged  butane gas  lighters and  refills (uncharged  lighters  are
       admitted);  lottery  tickets, packets  of  coloured  pictorial  postcards  by  printed
       papers  post;  hair dye containing diamine;  rubber balloons,  binoculars,  wireless
       apparatus.
        Restrictions:  Plants,  diamonds,  cotton  in  all  forms,  spirits,  condensed  milk.

       designs in  imitation of paper money and so on; unmanufactured tobacco;  h®1*
       dye  containing  diamine;  rubber  balloons,  binoculars,  transistor  radios.
        Restrictions:  Cotton  and  cotton  seeds  (cotton  goods  are  admitted);  dfljf
      and  chemical  supplies;  liqueurs,  wines and  spirits;  plants,  parts  of plants
       bulbs;  scrums;  wireless apparatus.  Diamonds  may  only  be  imported on  P j
      duction of an import permit, a certificate of origin and a manufacturer’s dec«a»
      tion  approved  by  the  official  authorities  of the  country  of origin;  gold,  8°
      coins  and  all  foreign  currency.
