Port Maria (A66) was described in 1859 as a small town with a very picturesque harbour.
Unfortunately about this time it suffered a severe cholera epidemic with eight hundred of its
thousand inhabitants dying. Mr. Michael Levy was the postmaster there from 1849 for the next
23 years.
This front to Kingston was posted on November 18th 1859 to some well-known merchants.
