Old Harbour (A61) is situated on the south coast, about 10 miles from Spanish Town. Columbus
anchored here in 1494 and again in 1504. The town was originally called ' Esqujvcl', named after
the Spanish Governor in 1509 but it was almost deserted at the time of the British conquest in
1655.
This letter to Mr. Logan at Mandeville P.O. was written on January 20th 1860 and has the correct
postal rate.
This numeral canceller was unchanged in 1862 - the last one to be re-allocated then was A59.
