Plantain Garden River (A62) as its name implies, is in the fertile eastern end of Jamaica, near
Bath in the parish of St. Thomas. The post office here was opened in May 1850 and the first
postmaster only lasted 17 years- quite a short stint by Jamaican standards.
This part-entire was posted on July glh 1859 and was backstamped Kingston the following day -
once more a letter to Messrs. BarcJay and McDowell.
