This card from Medina to Germany with the correct 1Yz d. rate shows another of the old (P11)

type postmarks with one of the new ' squared circle' type postmarks for the Kingston transit dated
February 16th 1887.
The office at Medina opened 1n 1875 and was aJlocated the number ' 631 ' which was originally
used at Frodsham, Cheshire. In 1891 this office was moved 2 miles and subsequently ca11ed
Maidstone.
