should as far as possible, be prepared in French and English. Weights and
measurements should be shown in the metric system.
Prohibitions: Fetters; arms (except sporting guns admitted under permit);
candl.': charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters arc admitted);
pla ving cards; saccharin; tobacco essence: and in addition all goods which do
not comply with the requirement of the (French) Merchandise Marks Act.
Restrictions: Living plants, (c.g. colTcc and cocoa seedlings, sugar cane
cuttings); gramophone records; medicines, insulin, scrums, vaccines and similar
preparations, gold, silver, platinum and plated articles.
The importation of certain goods is subject to the production of an import
licence.
Gift parcels: Customs charges arc payable on gift parcels.
The words “Envoi Isol Gratuit" must be written prominently on the cover of
the parcel.
Sealing: Parcels should be sealed with a distinctive device.
Charges: Charges for inland conveyance arc collected from the addresses
except at Cayenne and Saint Laurent.
Delivery: Parcels arc not delivered.

Dutiable articles may be sent by letter and small packet post-up to S100 green
label written in French and English required; thereafter top green label and form
C2/CP3.
Insurance: No Service.
Prohibitions: Current coin, drinks (e g. absinthe, pernod) coconut plants, bees
and insects.

Parcel Post

Air: No Service.
Customs declarations: 2 forms C2/CP3 and I Despatch note CP2 written in
French and English.
Insurance: No Service.
Prohibitions: Letters; firearms and munitions, except under permit.
