If in the opinion of any officer of the Post Oflicc to whom an article is tendered for regis-
tration the packing is inadequate or objectionable, registnll.ion of the :trticle may b~

(1) the article shall be posted by delivery for re!,..;strution ut 11 post office to an officer
on duty at such [lOot oflice;
(2) all sums chargeable on the registration of the article u.mlall postage chargeable
thercon, shall be prepe~id.
(3) on delivery of the article for registration. u certificate of posting, bcal'ing thcrcon
an acknowledgment that the registration fee hus been paid, shull be lillc>~l up and
signed by the officer of the Post Oflice receiving the >uticle und handed to the
po~tcr.
For the registration of cvrry inland postal artic•le there shall be charged und puid the
sum of fourpence.
In the event of loss, drunage or destruction in the e<mrsc of lr:msmis,ion by po;t of a
registered postal urticlc in re~pect of which surh sum has been paid, the lirnit of rourpensa-
tion pay11hle shnll be £2
The sum of five pence shall he chnrged nnd paid in respect of cn:ry su<'h postal urticle
on which the sender deoircs the limit of compensation to be £10 and an udditiorml sum
of one penny shall be charged and paid in re;pcct of every uddit.ional £tO limit of com-
pensation: Provided th11t thr maximum compcnsntion puynble in respc<•t of nny regis-
tered postal article shall be £400.

Regi•lered. Jf he desires to pay a higher fee thun 4d. he must mat k the puckeL thus:
