              of t ypewriling,  or  reproduced  from  a  typewritten  original  by  a  mechanical  proces~
              ordinarily used to produce a  number  ol  identicnl copies.  Carbon  ropie.~ are  included  in
              this category.  These documents are admissible nt the  Inland printed paper rate only:

                Jf special attention is d rawn to the fact that they arc printed or reproduced in imitation
              of t ypewriting.
                If at  least  t" ent y  packets each cont&.irung  one copy or  more  are  posted  at  the same

                The circulnrs must be securely  tied in  bundles of con\'enient size with the addresses
              all faced one way.  T hey 11 ill be liable to detention or to surcharge if subsequently found
              to Infringe any  of the regulntions of  the printed paper rnte.
              4.  Printed  Christmas,  New  Year,  Easter  Birthday,  Picture,  Greeting  and
                 Visiting Cards
                Nothing may appear  in  117iting except:
                Date of sending and  names and addresses of sender and addressee;
                Formulae of courtesy or of a conventional character not exceeding five" ords or initials.
              For  example  Kind  Regard.•,  Best  1Vishe3  and  other greetings and  so on,  not conveyin~
              any specifir informatiou or making an enquiry or request, are «dmis~ii.Jic.  Phrases such
              as A rriued Safely, See  you on 1\f onday, and so on, are not admissible.
              6.  Manuscripts for Press a.nd Printed proofs including information for insertion in
              directllries and similar pui.Jlicutions with correclions anrl iustructions.
                Any  writing 110t formiog  part  of the document itself must refer solely to  the arrnn£:e-
              ment  or  correction of the type or to  the execution of  the work.
              6.  Educational Exercises and,  Examination Papers "ith comments,  corrections
              ancl  instructions.
                Any  writing not form ing part of the document  itself must  refer solely  to  the subject
              matter of the exerrise or  to the questions put or  to the answers thereto.
                Coupons, forms, cards ancl  so on, bearing written answers  to acrostics  and  guessing
              competitions and 1vritten communications indicating whetbcr by mean.s  of  words, letter.,
              marl<s  or  numbers moves in a  game of chess, arc inadmissible.
                No  paper  money  (as defined  on page  13), may be posted  or  coo1 eyed or  deli "ered

              card, v.rapper,  lnbcl, or  en\'elope, forwarded  in order dJUt such card,  \\Tapper, lnbel, or
              envelope may  be returned  through the  post is permitted.
                Stationery,  which  term  includes  note-pnper,  envelopes,  labels,  illl·oircs,  insur!lllce
              or other forms, greeting or visiting cards wi.Jen sent not filled up to a person who is sub-
              sequently  to  u.se  them,  are  inudmissible.   .
                Yearly diaries are admitted, !.Jut diaries for shorter periods are inadmissible.
                Dlotting paper, cloth, metal, asbestos, leather and similHr substHnrcs are not regarded
              1111  ordinRrily used for  \\Tiling or  printing  ancl  are  inadmis.,ible,  but a  single unfolded
              flat sheet of blotting paper bearing a printed ud vertisemcnt not rdating to blotting paper
              and  not  sent  as a sample,  or one having affixed  to it such an advertisement printed on
              ordinary  paper or cardborad, is admitted in a dtlitahle opPn  cover.
                A  Local packet of  "Printed" Papers  may  not exceed 3  pound~ in  weight, nor  2 feet
               in length, nor 1 foot in width or depth, except it be  intended for transmission as a parcel.
