Ewa rton - A38 - In Ian Woodward's book published by the British Caribbean Study Group, it is
stated that there are no genuine examples of a British postage stamp recorded with the A38, A50
and A63 type 'H' obi iterators. Ewarton, for example, shut so often that it was hardly ever open.
Golden Spring - A42 - This was a small office which used A41 after Novembcrl 862 until 1885.
The office itself was moved 2 miles to Stony Hill in 1890.
Gordon Town - A43 - This office was on an estate originally owned by the fami ly of Colonel
William Gordon who died in 1731, and is situated about l 0 miles Northeast of Kingston.
Hope Bay - A48 - Lying between Buff Bay and Port Antonio, Hope Bay took its name from an
officer in the Commonwealth Army, who settled there after the conquest. The post office opened
in 1810.
