Jamaica Registration: The 1919-20 Kingston Experimental Marks.
There were three experimental exceptions to normal Kingston registration markings: in 1919-20; the
1927-38 Kingston machine cancellation; and in 1945-46.
Three new marks were used in 1919-20, all struck in violet ink: a large R in oval ® (Lant type RS2);
an oval datestamp (Lant type RC14); and a crossed lines roller mark (Lant type RC14a).
The three marks used together, in the correct violet ink, on cover from Kingston to Costa Rica,1920.
4½d

2d registration).
