The "A3T' obliterator was issued to the Duncans Post Ofice on 1• March, 1859 and remained in use for
nearly twenty years. At some juncture prior to 1880, however, it was irrevocably damaged or lost. One
of the five alpha-obliterators, "8", sent to Jamaica in 1873 for use in such circumstances, was allocated
to Duncans as a permanent replacement
