                     Overseas Post: Foreign Countries, contd.

       TURKEY, could.
         Restrictions: Letters or packets containing deeds, shares, warrants and  so  on,
       as well  as those containing Turkish currency,  including cheques or drafts  made
       out  in  Turkish  money;  bank-notes,  gold,  silver,  jewellery,  platinum,  precious
       stones, coin; plants and parts of plants; saccharin; seeds.
         Invoice: A certified invoice and certificate of origin must accompany all parcels
       sent to commercial  firms.
         Address:  The country  of destination  must  be shown  as Turkey  without  any
       alternatives or additions such as Asia Minor, Armenia and so on. Obsolete  place
       names,  such  as  Constantinople,  Angora,  Adalia,  Pera,  must  not  be  used  but
       names,  Istanbul,  Ankara,  Antalva,  Bcyoglu  must  be employed.

         Customs declarations:  2  forms C2/CP3  and  1 despatch  note CP2  written  in

       Turkish or French and English.
         Insurance:  Limit S230.
         Prohibitions:  Letters;  charged  butane  gas  lighters  and  refills;  labels,  corks,
       empty  bottles or other containers  bearing  the  marks  of non-Turkish  firms  and
       intended for use in packing  Turkish  products  and goods;  goods  bearing indica­
       tion which suggest that  they are ofTurkish origin when they are not: cottons not
       mentioned  in  the  official  list  (Codex)  except  cotton  prepared  for  medical  use;
       military  weapons  (except  for  the  Government)  and  air-guns;  worn  clothing,
       bedding and so on, except with certificate of disinfection.
         Restrictions:  Alcoholic liquors; pharmaceutical  preparations;  plants and parts
       of plants;  playing cards; quinine;  soap,  tea, tobacco and tobacco products.
         Invoice: A certified invoice and certificate of origin must accompany all parcels.

         Sealing:  Parcels must  be sealed  with a distinctive device.

         Dutiable  articles  may  be  sent  by letter  and  small packet  post—up to  $100
       green label required;  thereafter top green label and form C2/CP3.
         Insurance: No Service.
         Prohibitions:  Butane gas lighters and  refills, plants and arms.
         Restrictions:  Drugs.
