This handstamp was the first dated one to be sent out to Jamaica and ''as only in use in 1799.
This letter was written on November 29th 1799 to a London merchant being received on January
29th 1800 and answered on February 8th. The London receiver mark in red (on the reverse) was
used for l 0 years starting in l 800. The postal rate was l/8d.
