SHIP LETTER
This earlier letter to the Rev Holland from his father contains details of the fam ily farm and
garden m North Carolina, together with concern about his son' s health in Jamaica. It was \\Titten
on March 21"1 1846 with a postscript on the 24th, posted at Salem on the 25th, arrivrng at Montego
Ba} where it was charged 1 - and stamped ' paid'. There is also on the front a 12c. charge and
' via Baltimore' in manuscript together with two cds' s, one for Montego Bay dated Ma} 1lth and
the other for Spanish Town dated May 14th.
