                   Overseas Post: Foreign Countries, contd.

     COOKS ISLANDS, (New Zealand Island Territories), contd.
      Restrictions:  Articles  bearing  the  Royal  Arms  or the  New  Zealand  Coat  of
     Arms;  bees  and  bee-keeping  appliances;  dangerous  drugs;  firearms;  bulbs;
     fruit; plants; second-hand clothing  except gifts for  personal use; skins; feathers
     or eggs  of birds;  toilet articles  made  from animal  hair;  veterinary  biologies.
      Compensation  is  not  payable for uninsured  parcels containing  liquids, semi-
     liquids, perishable or fragile articles.
      Insurance: Letters and parcels for the Tokelau (or Union) Group are acccp'cd
     for  insurance  as  far  as  Apia,  Western  Samoa  only.  Letters  and  parcels  for
     islands other  than  Rarotonga and  Savage (Niue)  are accepted  for insurance as
     far as Rarotonga only.  Senders are advised to  mark such postal packets “To be
     Insured as far as the Service Permits.”

      Customs  declarations:  2  forms  C2/CP3  and  1 despatch  note  CP2  written  in
     French and English.
      Insurance: No Service.
      Prohibitions:  Letters;  arms  (except  sporting  guns  admitted  under  permit);
     charged  butane  gas  lighters  and  refills  (uncharged  I ghters  are  admitted  but
     there should  be  an  appropriate  indication  of the contents  on  the cover of the
     parcel); playing cards; saccharin.
      Restrictions: Cut flowers; drugs, eggs of game birds during close season;  fish
     and  game;  fresh  fruit;  fresh  vegetables  and  potatoes, gramophone  records:—
     living  plants,  roots  and  bulbs;  preserved  fish,  plums  and  vegetables;  shrubs,
     scrums and vaccines and simi'ar preparations; gold, silver, platinum and plated
     articles.

     COSTA RICA

      Dutiable articles  may  be  sent  by  letter  and small  packet  post—up  to  S100
    green  label  written  in  Spanish  and  English  required; thereafter top green  label
    and form  C2/CP3.
      Items  of value  (e.g.  coins,  currency  notes,  gold,  etc.)  are  not  admitted  in
    registered letters.
      Prohibitions:  Jewellery  except  in  registered  packets  bearing  green  label,
    lottery tickets.
