Portland Bigh-t to Quantico, U.S.A. which is franked by the
6c Air Mail value of 1941 cancelled by M-USN 1 dater of the

19-t.h Sepiember, 1942.. The cover also bears M -USNC 2( ii i)
and alihough the United States were then at war, it is
interesting -to note -that -the Marine was allowed to use bis

own personal nandstamp, -thus breaching security. There is
QuaRtico receiving dater o~ ihe 22nd September, 194~, on
the reverse of ~he cover.
