Although this obliterator was sent to Jamaica at the same time as the others, it is never seen on a
GB adhesive as it was not allocated till 1863, long after GB stamps had been withdrawn. In
addition the format of the obliterator has been slightly changed in that the surrounding bars are
considerably thicker.
This letter to Wisconsin left Richmond on August 14th 1878, transited Kingston the following day
and New York on August 22"d. On the reverse there is a circular 'PAID ALL', and also a note to
say that it was answered on September 27th.
