      Customs  declarations:  3  forms  C2/CP3  anil  I  despatch  note  CP2  written  in
     French or Spanish and English.
      Prohibitions:  Letters; arms; gaming  appliances,  communist  literature.  The
     importation  of many  other classes of goods  into  Ecuador  is  prohibited.

      Restrictions: Alcholic beverages; cigarette paper, cotton goods; pharmaceutical
     products; plants and seeds; manufactured or leaf tobacco.
      All  parcels  containing used clothing must  be accompanied  by  a certificate of
     disinfection and a detailed statement of the contents.
      Invoice:  An  Ecuadorean  Consular  invoice  must  be  sent  separately  to  the
    addressee for every  parcel or consignment of parcels for one addressee, of which
    the value exceeds 40 U.S. dollars or its equivalent in sucres at the official  rate of
    exchange, otherwise a fine is imposed by the Ecuadorean authorities.
      Import  Licences are required for all goods valued  in excess of 40 U.S. dollars.
      Commercial  parcels  are  liable  to  confiscation  unless  the  addressee  holds  an
    import permit from the Central Bank (of Ecuador).

      Dutiable articles may be sent by letter and small packet  post—up to S100 green
    label required: thereafter  top green  label and form  C2/CP3.  Items  of value arc
    not admitted.
      Insurance: Limit S750. Surface only.
     Prohibitions:  Bank-notes,  bees,  charged  butane  gas  lighters  and  refills  (un­
    charged  lighters are admitted);  coin,  gold, jewellery,  platinum,  precious stones,
    silver,  samples  of cigarettes,  cigars  and  tobacco  of  all  kinds,  lottery  tickets,
    radio-active material.
     Restrictions: Patent medicines, plants.

     Customs declarations: 3 forms C2/CP3 and  1 despatch note CP2.  Declarations
    must bear the actual signature of the sender.
     Insurance: Limit $200.
     Prohibitions: Letters, charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters
    arc admitted);  cotton  seed  ;  drugs,  unmanufactured  cotton  (except  samples  of
    ginned cotton  not  exceeding 2 kilogrammes, addressed  "Entomological  Section,
    Ministry  of  Agriculture,  Customs  House,  Alexandria,  Egypt  United  Arab
    Republic,  for  Mr......................... ”);  tobacco  seeds.  Sudanese  tobacco  adulter­
    ated or artificial tobacco.
