Rates were announced in the Gazette of 28 March 1877:
• For a postcard posted for town or office delivery - One Half-penny.
• For a postcard to be conveyed any distance within the colony - One Penny'
• Postage chargeable in Jamaica as pre-paid correspondence to other places within the Postal Union - 3d
