Five emergency obiiterators were sent from London in 1873 to be used as needed.

'A' was used at Milk River and was superseded by the numeral obliterator '20 l ', which was sent
out in September 1874.
'B' was used at Duncans from 1880 until 1891. Why it was needed is a bit of a puzzle as it already
had 'A37'.
'C' was used at Laughlands. Opposite the post office is a tavern which was 'frequented by
gentlemen of the legal profession journeying to and from the Cornwall Assizes' in Montego Bay.

It is not known where D' and 'E' were used. There are only 3 recorded examples of 'D', and they

are all reputed to belong to an individual who lives in Florida.
