Jamaica Registration: Compulsory Registration.
Compulsory registration of a packet returned to England: 1907.
Post between Britain and the colonies was subject to compulsory registration if it contained certain
valuables, including money. Any such item detected was taken out, registered and surcharged.
Cover from Britain, unclaimed in Jamaica, returned to Britain and there compulsorily registered.

of 1d, or 2d double).

The London Returned Letter Office compulsorily registered the returned letter and enclosed it in this
Ambulance Envelope for return to the original sender, who was charged the registration fee of 2d.
