               spp:ying  to  plunt material ns such the use as packing material is also prohibited of rice

               straw,  hulls  nod  chaff;  cotton  ant!  cotton products; augarcnno, including bagasse; and
               leaves of n.JI  plants.
                Tho  importation  of the  following  articles  is  subject  to special restrlctions:-nrms;
               most  plants  and  plant  product-s;  se~>l  skin  in  any  form;  virus,  serums,  toxins  and
               analogous products.

                Unlu1  prcui<nl4  wriUen  pcrmi6sion  ha• been  obtai11ed  frotn  the  Dircclbr  of A gricuUure
               of Jamaica, it is prohibited to import into Jamaica by parcel-post mail the followiog:-
                Bees, honey, and  material used by  bee raisers; boots used  previously by  workmen on
               banana pl:lotations;  cotton and all plants of the cotton plant; all plants and varieties of
               gossypium;  a nd  a ll other plant s originating In any country  other
               than Great Britain.
                The  written  permit  of the Director of Agriculture  which  takes  the form  of a  label
               bearing particulars of the permit nod  the seal  of  the  Department, must be forwarded
               by the importer to  the supplier  who shall attach it  to the package containing the plant
               to  which  the  permit  relates.
                Contagious abortion vaccin',  live or  d~ad (organisms  of  the  Bruc~!ln group),  rabies
               vaccine,  foot  and  mouth  dis~as) and  contagious  bovine  pleuro-pneumonia  vaccine  or
               antigen.
                All sp. cific organisms or agents (of a bacteria],  protozoan and virus nature), except. rat
               viruses, which ara known to cnuBe infectious nmmal c:hsaase, S!lvo and except in the form of
               substnnc<s commonly known as vnccincs,  sera, toxins,  antitoxins,  and antigens intended
               for  us~ in  the  practice  of  human  or  vctcrniary m•<licinc, provided the said  substances
               (vaccin~s, sera  toxins.  antitoxins  and  antigens)  arc  imported  in  a  package labelled or
               marked distinctly on the outside of thr package,  " Biological Products" and enclosing m
               the s.~td p!ICkngc a  D~clnration  from  the  Exporter or Supplier statmg fully the contents
               of  th~ smd  package  with e.  description  of the nature.  of the subst!Ulces therein and an
               indic:llion of the maker, place and country in which they  were prepared.
                Fruits nnd  vegetables (except dried  or processed fruits and  ,·egetables, grains, seeds,
               and  Irish  potatoes)  are  prohibited  in  the  mails  to  Jt~mnica from  the  United  Stottes,
               unless  accompanied  by .a  certificate  issued  by a  representative  of  the  United  States
               Department  of Agriculture  attesting  that  the  products arc  home  grown  and  arc  the
               products  of a  State in  which the Mediterranean fly  (Ccratilis captiata}, does not exist.
                The following articles are absolutely prohibited:-CofTee;  rum;  shaving brushes manu-
               factured in El\st.em countries, as well as those exported from those countries; citrus fruits.
                It is also  prohibited  to  import Tuberculozyne  or  a ny  other alleged
               cure for consumption, unless under  license granted by the Governor and subject
               to the conditions of such liceru;e.
                *The  entry  of  the  approved  plants  and  plant  products of any nature id permitted
               only  on  the  condition  l'hat  the  articles  concerned arc found  to be, or can be  rendered
               appareotly,  free  from injurious insects and diseases.  Plnnt qunraotine inspectors in  the
               United  St:~tcq  are  permitted  t?  de1troy  immediately  any  plants  or  plant  products
               deemed injuriou,  to plant life.
