LEITER FROM DE LA RUE TO THE CROWN AGENTS - 22 SEPT. 1877

(Original manuscript copy from the De La Rue Archives)

This reports that preparations for the printing are complete ' ...as ordered in your letter of I6 May last '

lt also recommends the use of the English Stout Card rather than the thinner card used for the New Zealand
first issue card, also produced by De La Rue, which was submitted as a sample, see Sheet 11 .

Samples of the cards on the English Stout Card were submitted with the letter, see example here Sheet 14.
The recommendation for the more expensive English Stout Cards was declined!
