Maritime Jamaica: Fyffes Line.

            Elders and Fyffes Shipping entered the Jamaica to Great Britain trade in 1901, shipping bananas
            from 1904 and continued as a subsidiary of the United Fruit Company from 1907. Passengers
            became increasingly important. The company sailed from Port Antonio and Kingston principally to
            Avonmouth, but also Liverpool, Swansea, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven.

            The Motagua, 5,977 tons, 50 passengers, was built in 1912 for HAPAG, was sold to Elders and Fyffe
            in 1914 and was in service until 1933.

                           The Cavina, 6,907 tons, 12 passengers, was built in 1924 and was in service until 1957.
