                 Obliterators were issued to Post Towns on 1 March 1859 and the large type cds was phased out of use.

                         Vere was 45 miles from Kingston, hence the 4d single rate for up to 60 miles applied
                The Post Office at Vere opened in 1788 and closed in 1875, The Postmaster at this time was P.P. DeCosta.
