                  Any postal packet may be  redirected to  the  same  addressee ~~ another  address either
                 by an officer  of tlf Post  Office or by an agent of the addresace after delivery.
                  The fee for detaining nod delivering in Kingston, psckd  letters  addressed  to District
                 Post  Offices, or for detaining and re-directing such letters to any  other  postal  address
                 is  Is  for each service.

                  Private letter boxes,  available  for  the  subscribers'  use  from  i  a.m.  fi115.30  p.m. on
                 week days  (and also for  two or three hours after t h~ arrival of important over-sea mails),
                 may  be rented for  l~s. a  year at  the  Post Offices  of  Kingston,  Port Antonio,  Montego
                 Bay snd Mandevillc.
                  Private bags.-By permission of the Po tmaster for  Jamaica  any pe·son may have his
                 lettere conveyed to and  from the Post  Offi ·e  in a  private  bag  upon  payment  of  an
                 annual fee of one guinea.  The bag  to be locked, one key being  kept by  the Postmaster
                 and one by the owner  oi the bag.
                  When  a  private letter bng is  conveyed  by a  mnil  cont.ractor a further  annual fee  of
                 one guinea is to be pa.id.  These fees must be p3id in  advance  through  th '  Po,t.master
                 for Jamaica.
                                     P05TE.  ~ESTANTE.
                  The Poste Restante is intended solely for t.he nccomrnodntion of stranger• and travellers
                 a nd even they may not use it for more than three months.
                  Letters  addrea~ed to initials, or to  fictitious names,  or to a  christian  name  without a
                 surname are  not  taken  in at the Poste  Restante, but are  treated  as  undelivered  and
                 returned to senders.
