RNC 3 . PASSED BY NAVAL/CENSOR
This handstamp was locally made in rubber and reads PASSED BY NAVAL, 2~ x 40mm, on
the first line and CENSOR --- , 2~ x 18mm, on the second line followed by a row of dots ,
both in block serif type . The wording is enclosed by a single line frame , 15 x 48mm,
and is recorded struck in purple, red or magenta inks .
Purple ink EKD : 5 May 1917 LKD : 16 October 1918
Red ink EKD : 25 December 1917 LKD :
Magenta ink EKD : 6 November 1917 LKD : 13 March 1918

Below a re shown three post cards t o the same addressee in England, all thr ee have
RNC 3 handstamp struck i n purple or magenta inks , the first item in purple ink is
dated then 7ili June, 1917 and the second purple item being dated the 8ili June, 1918.
The third card below has RNC 3 struck in magenta i nk and bears dater of the 13ili
March, 1918 .
