The second of the handstamps was that used by the ~ase
Censor ai -the A:rmy .:Base Post O££ice, Up Fark Camp. There
were several o£ ihis particular iype o£ handsiamp, ~hich was
produced locally. The bands-tamp consisied o£ a double
circle of 3}mm oia.Jne1:er wi1:h t.he wording "MIIJTARY CENSOR"
and "J"AMAICA" . "tach hands-tamp had a tturnber allocatea to it ..
which "Was ihe number o:f -the censoring officer and i h.is of£icer
sometimes ini-balled this .hand.stamp.
The handstamps of ihese Base Censors are known struck in
bo1h purple and blue ink. Al so recorded in black i nk.
To date only ine followi~ numbers have been recorded,
bu-t it is assumed. iha.t the "missing'' number-s el'ist, namely,
4, 9, 12, 15, 16,
