This monument commemorates the victory of Admiral Lord Rodney over the French fleet on 14th April 1782.
The three day running engagement, known as the Battle of the Saints
resulted in the capture of the French flagship, the Ville de Paris.
The flagship with the Admiral Count de Grasse aboard was triumphantly towed into Kingston harbour.
