                                                 The stamp represents “Peace”.
                      The design is taken from a photograph showing the embarkation of the Jamaican Contingent
                                          aboard the SS Verdala on 8th November 1915.


































      Upon initial review the photograph looks genuine but close review shows a different ship, without military personnel on board!
                       Further research of proof material confirms that this photograph is the basis for the design
                                    but the engraver has employed considerable artistic licence.
