JAMAICA POSTAL CENSORSHIP

                         Terminal Censorship: Blue Paper Label

Fora short period in April-May 1940 the familiar white resealing labels were replaced by labels printed
  on blue paper. The reason is not known, but is presumed to be due to a shortage of white paper at
                                                 the local firm that printed them.

                                                            New York City.

 The letter was opened by the Jamaican Censorship Service and resealed with the newly-introduced
                                  type of resealing label, printed on blue paper (JL12).
                                    This example is the earliest recorded date of use.
