Apparently a private envelope sent by Jas. Macnee of Halfway Tree, but bearing a faint handstamp of the

United Fruit Company in magenta ink beneath the typed address. Mailed in Kingston on 16 h June 1943 to a
relative in Scotland. The airmail rate to the UK is paid with a single one shilling King George VI definitive

stamp bearing a UFC perfin with 31 holes.

The cover was opened for censorship in the United States, being resealed with a sellotape label (censor
number 3871).



Although there are no receiving postmarks, the cover is endorsed "Rec. 20/7/43" in pencil, indicating a journey
of around five weeks.
