This dater consists of a single line circle, }2 mm in
diameter, worded around the top, "AMERICAN "BASE FORCES A.P.~
804 11 in sans serif typer 2! Mm high. The centre comprises
an abbrev-i--ated mon-th,. day, -time (expressed as "AM 11 or "PM 11 )
and the yeay; (e.xpres$ed in :four figures). These :four plugs
are also known transposed, being in sans serif type 2t mm
high, except £or -the "day 11 plug which is in serif -type.
The dater· was used by Army Post Office 804 at fort
Simonds, and like tha rest of the Army daters this dater is
oNly reo~rded struck in black. ' 1as-t "Day" strikes are

reco~rded £or- this dat~r, and later in the war this same
dater appears rrom Amiens (Prance) and San Francisco (U.S.A.),
The cla-ter has a se-t of' :four obli teraiing bars to the right,
