                             Internal Rates Between Kingston and Spanish Town

                                   1d Single Rate ‘Town Delivery’ Mail from 1861 to 1868
      The GB PO rate of 4d for all distances up to 60 miles applied was replaced on 22 Mar 1861 by a rate of 1d for delivery within the same town
                                  or 2d for delivery in the same parish, 4d remaining for up to 60 miles.
              Post between Spanish Town (the capital and Government seat at this time) and Kingston was classified as the same town.

                                           2d Rate Applying from 1868 until 1884

         Upon the introduction of the PO Law on 1 Jul 1868, the rate between these towns was changed to 2d (for up to 30 miles).
