The marking has only ever been seen struck in red ink. Known used between11 Feb 1932 and 24 Oct 1940.

‘Undelivered / Return To Sender’ Plus ‘Rebut
‘REBUT’ is an international postal marking instruction to return the piece of mail.
It is usually found in violet but a single example is known in blue dated 1936 (see cover bearing RTS Reason Type 3).
It has only been recorded on mail from Europe but was applied in Jamaica as evidenced by the 1936 cover,
where REBUT’ and ‘Return to Sender’ marks had been applied in the same blue colour.
Known used between 23 Sep 1935 and 4 Dec 1940.
