Jamaica: The Nyasaland Key Plate Stamps: George V ½d, 1927.

41 printings were invoiced between 20 July 1927 and 11 August 1938, 37,355,942 stamps.
De La Rue printed using two 120 set key plates and two 120 set duty plates. Like earlier values
printed 240 set, at first the two key plates were both numbered 1. In later printings a key plate
numbered 3 was used below key plate 1. So key plate number 1 is found in either top or bottom
sheet margins but key plate 3 only in lower sheet margins. The Jubilee lines are from the duty plates.

The upper and lower key plate 1, the upper used Key plate 3, used as the
for all printings, the lower for early printings. lower half for late printings.

The Bow Flaw.

Key plate 3 but not key plate 1 is found on panes with this duty plate variety, confirming the view that
key plate 3 was used as the lower of two key plates for later printings. The upper key plate is always
numbered 1. The bow flaw is in the lower left pane, row 18, stamp 6. It appeared in 1930 and is
known in three main states, varying mainly in the accompanying inner frame break.
