Jamaica: The Vendryes Provisional

First setting: the HALE variety in position (row) 6.
The HALE variety in position (row) 6 appears sometimes as a protrusion from the base of the F,
sometimes as dot further to the right. Either may appear alone or both together, sometimes joined to
resemble a ragged lower bar to an E.
The variety began in printing column 1 and occurs in most strikes of columns 1, 2 and 3. It is usually
absent from column 4, in column 5 it is a dot alone and it is again absent from column 6.

Different states of position (row) 6:

Probably column 1 Probably column 2 or 3 Probably column 3.
(clean strike). (less clean strikes). (some ink scatter).

                 Protrusion Protrusion Protrusion Strong protrusion
and dot. linked to dot. and smear. linked to dot.

Probably column 4 Probably column 5 Probably column 6.
(faint E and distinctive Y). (pressed-out ink). (very dirty strike).

                                Variety Dot alone. Variety
                             absent. absent.
